Woods’ Ex-Staffer: DUI Arrest Reveals “Terrible Driver”

Tiger Woods’ Driving Under Scrutiny After DUI Arrest

A former employee of golf legend Tiger Woods has voiced serious concerns about the athlete’s driving habits, particularly in light of his recent arrest for driving under the influence (DUI) and a subsequent crash. The anonymous staffer painted a concerning picture of Woods’ behaviour behind the wheel, suggesting it’s a long-standing issue rather than an isolated incident.

“The guy is a terrible driver,” the former employee reportedly told the Daily Mail. “He drives like a bat out of hell very often on a road where lawn services are parked with heavy equipment.” The source further elaborated on the perceived recklessness, stating, “I’ve been with him in the car going 55 or 60 mph, driving past cops who don’t seem to care.”

The comments come in the wake of Woods’ arrest on March 27th in Florida. The 50-year-old athlete was taken into custody after flipping his Land Rover in a two-car collision. Charges against him included DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test.

The Incident and Initial Findings

According to Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek, Woods underwent several sobriety tests following his arrest. Notably, he “blew multiple zeroes” on the breathalyzer, indicating no alcohol was detected. This finding, however, did not entirely alleviate concerns about impairment.

Sheriff Budensiek explained the circumstances of the crash during a press conference. “Just before 2 p.m. today the Jupiter Island Police Department received a call about a rollover crash about two and a half miles from where we are,” he stated. “The Jupiter Island Police Department responded out there and found a pickup truck pulling a pressure cleaner trailer and a Land Rover which was rolled over on the driver’s door.”

The investigation quickly focused on the driver of the Land Rover. “The investigation started and initially right off the top, it did appear that the driver of the Land Rover might be impaired,” Sheriff Budensiek confirmed.

Refusal of Urine Sample and Pain Medication Claims

While initial breathalyzer results were clear of alcohol, a crucial point of contention arose when Woods declined to provide a urine sample. The ex-employee suggested this refusal was not indicative of illegal drug use, but rather a consequence of Woods’ extensive history with pain medication.

“I know the guy, that’s just not what he does,” the insider explained. They added that Woods’ decision to opt out of a urine test was likely due to “having been on tons of pain medication for years” as he manages various injuries sustained throughout his career.

Sheriff Budensiek acknowledged this aspect of the investigation. While police “really weren’t suspicious of alcohol,” they noted the refusal to provide a urine sample. He clarified the official stance: “He was not impaired with alcohol, but they believe it was some type of medication or drug.”

Tiger Woods’ Mugshot Released

The Martin County Sheriff’s Department released Woods’ mugshot on Friday, providing a visual of the golfer following his arrest.

The Crash Scene and Vehicle Condition

Despite the rollover, Woods was reportedly unharmed in the accident. However, evidence at the scene indicated a loss of control prior to the crash. Skid marks were observed on the street, marking the path where the vehicle veered before overturning.

Legal Proceedings and Release

Following the incident, Tiger Woods was transported to the Martin County Jail. He was subsequently released after spending approximately eight hours in custody. The investigation into the crash and the circumstances surrounding Woods’ impairment continues, with the focus seemingly on the potential influence of prescription medication. The former employee’s statements add a layer of concern, suggesting that Woods’ driving habits have been a cause for worry among those close to him for some time.
