Introduction to the 2027 Hyundai Staria Load
Hyundai is set to revolutionize its commercial van lineup with the introduction of hybrid and electric power options for the Staria Load. This update, which includes a range of styling and technological improvements, is expected to be available later this year. The Staria Load has already established itself as a top-selling commercial van in Australia, and with these new powertrain options, it’s poised to remain a strong contender in the market.
Styling and Technology Updates
The 2027 Hyundai Staria Load will feature a refreshed exterior design, including an updated horizontal front grille insert. Inside, the van will boast an upgraded interior with a larger 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, keyless entry, and push-button start. These enhancements are designed to improve both comfort and convenience for drivers and passengers alike.
Pricing Details
The pricing for the 2027 Hyundai Staria Load starts from $49,990 plus on-road costs for the entry-level diesel model, which is an increase from $47,740. The flagship hybrid-only Staria Load Premium will be priced at $61,240 plus on-roads, marking an increase of $8,500 over the current Premium diesel model.

Hybrid and Electric Power Options
Hyundai has made history by launching a ‘plug-less’ hybrid van in Australia. The Staria Load Hybrid will be available in June, followed by the electric model in the second half of 2026. This move aligns with the growing demand for eco-friendly vehicles and reflects Hyundai’s commitment to sustainable transportation solutions.

Competitors in the Commercial Van Sector
Since its launch in late 2021, the Staria Load has competed with other popular models in the commercial van sector, such as the Toyota HiAce, Renault Trafic, LDV Deliver 7, and Ford Transit Custom. The updated model will no longer offer the five-seat ‘Crew’ version, with all grades now only available with two seats.

Performance and Specifications
The 2027 Hyundai Staria Load comes standard with a 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that delivers 130kW/430Nm through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Alternatively, a new 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol hybrid powertrain produces a combined 180kW with a six-speed transmission. The diesel model claims fuel consumption of 7.0 litres per 100 kilometres, while the hybrid is likely to be similar or higher than the 5.8L/100km quoted by the Kia Carnival Hybrid with the same powertrain.

Towing and Cargo Capacity
The diesel model boasts a 2500kg braked towing capacity, a 4935-litre cargo area volume, and a 997kg payload. The hybrid model, while not rated for towing, offers a slightly higher 1039kg payload. The electric Staria Load will be powered by a 160kW single electric motor driving the front wheels, with an 84kWh battery, a 2000kg braked towing capacity, and the same cargo area volume as the diesel and hybrid models.
Additional Features
Hybrid variants build on the diesel’s feature list with automatic single-zone climate control, while the EV will add a shift-by-wire gear selector and a larger 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster as standard. The 2027 Hyundai Staria Load diesel is due in showrooms in April 2026, with the hybrid expected in June, and the EV version due in the second half of the year, with pricing to be confirmed.
