Offset Makes a Strong Return at Coachella
Just days after being shot, Offset has once again captured the attention of fans as he took the stage at the iconic Coachella festival. The rapper, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, made a stunning appearance on Saturday (US time), leaving the crowd in awe as he performed without his wheelchair.
Offset, who is 34 years old, shared videos on Instagram showing himself in a wheelchair before he got up and started performing the setlist. The crowd cheered as he moved around the stage, even jumping up and down during the performance. His energy and determination were evident, showing that he was feeling good despite the recent incident.
In addition to the videos, Offset posted snaps of himself wearing a skeleton face mask and hat, along with a long sleeve top and tracksuit pants. He captioned the post with “REAL LOVE,” expressing his gratitude and positivity.
A Recent Shooting and Recovery
Offset was shot in the leg last week at the valet area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. According to police, the incident was instigated by fellow musician Lil Tjay. The shooting allegedly began with an affray or fight and was contained quickly. At the time of the shooting, a representative for Offset told Page Six that he had been transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
Following the incident, Offset took to Instagram to thank everyone who had checked in on him and sent love. In his post, he wrote, “Thank you to everyone who’s checked in on me and showed me love! I’m good… but I’m planning to be better!” He also expressed his focus on his family, recovery, and getting back to music.
“Life is made up of quiet wins and loud losses… Life is a gamble and I’m still playing to win.”
A Legacy of Music and Challenges
Offset rose to fame as a member of Migos, the chart-topping trio behind hits like Versace and the Grammy-nominated album Culture. His journey in the music industry has not been without challenges. The incident comes just a few years after fellow member Takeoff was fatally shot in 2022, highlighting the ongoing struggles within the hip-hop community.
